Stories speak to our souls in ways that didactic teaching often cannot, so it's no surprise that some of the great spiritual lessons of our lives come through fictional stories and characters. Carolyn Givens will share some of the spiritual lessons she's learned through stories and about the fictional stories that have turned her heart back to the deep truths of the Bible. This overview will encompass both classic literature and modern books. It will examine books by those who profess to follow Jesus as well as work that exemplifies the Augustinian idea that "all truth is God's truth," while keeping in mind the caution Augustine shares to be sure that the truth we see in the world around us points us first to glorifying God.
