Anxiety and stress can hijack our brains and make it difficult for us to learn, make connections with others, and succeed in life. This workshop will focus on brain science and how it impacts behavior and engagement. Dr. Riegel will review the stress cycle in the brain and discuss how an unregulated nervous system can hijack many body systems and prevent success in school, relationships and developing self-confidence. She will share concrete actions parents can take to build mentally strong and resilient children. These actions build a supportive and proactive culture in the home that lends itself to optimism, positivity, stress reduction and closer bonds.
