Just where does creative work come from? Is it best done in solitude or community? Tolkien calls the work of making "subcreation," Austin Kleon directs us to "steal like an artist." The truth is that we are all makers and thieves—our creative work a mix of the inspirations that feed us, the passions in our souls, and the community around us.
This workshop will explore examples of various kinds of creative collaboration both with the great artists who have come before us and with the people who surround us. It will challenge parents to develop good roots for their children's creative work and build good communities for growing creativity.
