God calls us to be global citizens and to help our children learn what he has taught us. He left us with the commission to disciple our children and others. That begins in our homes with our children and goes to the ends of the earth. As homeschoolers, we can begin teaching missions and anthropology early in our children's lives. We start with a reading passport complete with book suggestions to share with our children, lead into prayer prompts and ministry to those in our communities who are from other lands, and then discuss ways we can do missions as families. The results of giving our children the world are innumerable as their eyes and hearts are opened to God's plan to save the world. We give our children a wonderful gift when we give them the world through literature, prayer, missions, and cultural experiences. We'll talk about all of these and some tips for families as they embrace being global citizens living a biblical culture. |
