About This Workshop

Teenagers receive moral, spiritual, and intellectual influence from a variety of sources daily, and sadly many of the influences coming from the broader culture have a deforming impact. Rather than pushing them towards flourishing, they encourage vicious habits of thought, feeling, and action. Parents must be well-equipped to recognize and counter deforming influences with formative Christian practices so that their children will have the best chance of being shaped into people who love what is good, true, beautiful, and beneficial. In this workshop we will discuss the nature of Christian character, how virtues are formed and vices are resisted, and what resources exist to support parents in the moral and spiritual formation of their children, including the online daily Character Formation Program developed by Gravitas: A Global Extension of The Stony Brook School.
