| Tanya Whitfield is the co-founder of Comm. Central Academy, a homeschool academy that began in 2009 with just 30 students and has since grown to over 300. Passionate about inspiring a love for learning, Tanya has taught students from 7th grade through high school, specializing in liberal arts subjects. Alongside her partner, she developed a curriculum that blends Classical education’s academic rigor, Charlotte Mason's living books philosophy, and Fun-Schooling's creative engagement — a combination that has consistently produced exceptional results for their students. Drawing from 15+ years of teaching experience and the journey of homeschooling her own four children to graduation, Tanya understands the challenges and joys of homeschooling firsthand. When she's not mentoring families or developing curriculum, Tanya enjoys hiking mountain trails, camping with her husband of 28 years, and experimenting with nutritious recipes to nourish her family. |
