| Oguz Can Ozcanli was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey, where he began piano and composition studies at age 7. He later attended Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship, graduating cum laude in Contemporary Writing & Production. Based in Los Angeles, Oguz has built a successful career as a Film and TV composer, pianist, and producer. His music has been featured on major networks including Discovery Channel, National Geographic, NBC, FOX, A&E, and History Channel. Notable credits include Billy the Kid: New Evidence (National Geographic/20th Century FOX, co-produced by Kevin Costner), NBC’s Making It starring Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, Pawn Stars (History Channel), Killing Fields (Discovery Channel, produced by Barry Levinson), and Alone (History Channel). He has also contributed music to American Grit (FOX), Forged in Fire (History Channel), and Mariah’s World (E!). Alongside his composing career, Oguz is the founder and owner of Oz Academy of Music, a boutique online school where Berklee-trained musicians teach private one-on-one lessons worldwide. Under his leadership, the academy has grown into a trusted community for homeschoolers, adults, and young learners, offering instruction in over 19 instruments as well as music theory, songwriting, production, and film scoring. Oguz takes pride in combining his industry expertise with education, ensuring students learn directly from active professionals while enjoying a flexible and supportive environment. His work also extends to the recording world, collaborating with Grammy-winning artists such as John Patitucci, Claudio Ragazzi, and Jetro Da Silva on his single Sunset Bossa, released worldwide in 2018. |
