Nellie Johnston, the owner and founder of Growing Thyme Cooking, has a BS and MS in Athletic Training, and is a certified Kids Nutrition Specialist. Nellie has taught over two thousand kids how to cook and make healthy food choices since starting her business five years ago. In addition to writing nutrition-based cooking curriculum, she has taught preschool classes, children with special needs, refugee children, children of professional athletes, girl scout troops, homeschool groups, boy scout troops, summer camps, youth groups and a cooking club at a local elementary school.
Nellie lives with her husband and four children in Mint Hill, NC. When she is not in the kitchen or writing her curriculum, she is outside. She loves gardening, hiking, camping and exploring in nature. Above all else, she loves to spend time with her family.
