About

Mark Hancock is a dynamic speaker, author, and the Chief Executive Officer of Trail Life USA, a Christ-centered, boy-focused mentoring and leadership organization with over 65,000 members across 1,360 troops in all 50 states. With a mission to guide generations of young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and embrace outdoor adventure, Mark has been instrumental in growing Trail Life USA since its inception in 2013, following the Boy Scouts of America’s shift in policies. His leadership has made Trail Life a premier national program for developing godly husbands, fathers, and citizens.

Mark began his career founding a national advertising agency, which he ran for 15 years before his conversion to Christ led him into ministry. He has served as a youth and college pastor, associate pastor, homeless ministry director, and global event director for an international ministry, organizing events across five continents. With two Master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida, Mark has practiced privately and taught at both secular and Christian colleges. His insights into boyhood, fatherhood, and Christian leadership are informed by his professional background and personal experience as a husband of over 35 years and father to two sons.

As a sought-after speaker at conventions, Christian conferences, and media platforms like Focus on the Family, Family Life Radio, and James Dobson’s Family Talk, Mark inspires audiences with his passionate, practical, and biblically grounded approach. His talks address the unique needs of boys, the vital role of fathers, and navigating cultural challenges to raise godly men. He is the author of Trail-Ready: 101 Devotions for Dads with Boys, Why Are We Sitting Here Until We Die?, Let Boys Be Boys: 3 Winning Strategies for Leaders of Boys, and 5 Critical Needs of Boys, offering practical tools for parents and mentors. In 2017, he was named to the American Family Association’s “40 Faithful.”

Mark’s engaging style, blending humor, heartfelt stories, and actionable strategies, resonates with homeschooling parents, educators, and church leaders. He lives near Greenville, South Carolina, with his wife, and continues to champion the cause of letting “boys be boys” in a culture that often misunderstands them.
