Bio: Jesse Florea has worked at Focus on the Family for more than 25 years. For most of that time, he’s been the editor of Focus’ children’s magazines: Clubhouse (for kids 8-12) and Clubhouse Jr. (for children 3-7). Florea co-hosts the “Official Average Boy” podcast with comedian Bob Smiley and the biweekly “The Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast.” He has written or co-written more than 35 books, including “Case for Miracles for Kids” with Lee Strobel, “Case for Grace for Kids,” “Defend Your Faith” apologetics Bible for kids, the student edition of “Gods at War,” “Devotions for Super Average Kids” and “Girl Talk/Guy Talk: Devotions for Teens.” Florea often speaks at Christian writers conferences around the country, teaching up-and-coming authors how to write for children. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications from Wheaton College while minoring in biblical studies. He covered high school sports for nearly 30 years for weekly or daily newspapers and was inducted into the Colorado High School Coaches Hall of Fame for media. He lives with his wife, Stephanie, in Colorado Springs and enjoys hanging out with his two grown children, their spouses and his grandchildren.
