| Dixie Kolditz is a dynamic advocate for homeschooling, a dedicated mother of nine, and a passionate believer in the power of experiential learning. Born and raised in a Black township, under apartheid, in South Africa, Dixie’s early life shaped her deep commitment to freedom, education, and broadening horizons for the next generation. As a homeschooling mom, she has nurtured her children’s love for learning, taking them on educational adventures just down the road, and across four continents to explore diverse cultures, histories, and languages. With a robust background in business and politics, Dixie brings a unique perspective to the homeschooling community. As a successful business owners in Washington state, she and her husband have employed hundreds of people. Dixie testified before both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate on behalf of small businesses, advocating for policies that foster growth and opportunity. Her civic engagement extends to serving on the Foundation Board of Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington, and her region’s housing board, where she works to strengthen community resources and support systems. Dixie’s passion for education is rooted in empowering children to develop resilience, excellence, and a world perspective. She emphasizes the importance of travel and language learning as tools to expand horizons and equip young minds with the skills to thrive in an ever-changing world. Dixie will share her insights on creating meaningful learning experiences, drawing from her global travels and her commitment to raising curious, capable, and compassionate children.
