About

Christina Corriveau: M.A. in Education, M.A. in Literature
“I’ve always loved reading and teaching, and knew from a young age that my future career must include both. Serving as an educator in various capacities since college, my experiences range from an initial role as an America Reads tutor in a kindergarten class to teaching high school English for eight years (with courses ranging from ESL to AP Literature) to now twelve years teaching composition and creative writing at the college level. When I had children of my own, instilling a love of reading was a top priority. But reading didn’t come easily for my first-born, so I had to find creative ways to keep reading fun even when it proved a challenge. Now older, my daughter confidently reads chapter books on her own and has become like me when I was a kid, staying up to read with a flashlight long after lights out. I love that I now have to force her to stop reading, and I hope our boxes will help even the most reluctant readers discover the magic that can only be found in a good book.”
Lauren Fairchild: MSEd
“I taught English and reading in high school and middle school for over fifteen years. I know too well how many kids dislike reading by the time they reach their teens and how important the skill of reading is for a child’s academic future. When I had my own children, I wanted to ensure that they had a variety of positive, fun-filled reading experiences outside of school. I wanted to help them fall in love with reading. So I called a few friends and started our first Lit League book club. Years later, we want to give parents across America the tools to run their own book clubs and to help kids discover the joy of reading.”
