About

Carol Kerney is a mother, writer, and pretty-much retired teacher. Her mother was a storyteller, instilling in her daughter a love of good stories. Her father had a quiet off-beat humor, causing his daughter to enjoy writing gentle humor. Carol knew she wanted to be a mother, writer, and teacher since forever. The writing part had to wait for the other two, but right away after retirement, Carol wrote 26 novels--and is still going strong. These novels range from Christian romance to young adult sci-fi to middle grade realism with a focus on historical novels and contemporary novels that teach history. Combining her love of teaching and history with her love of writing, she has four series of novels that teach history: "The Young Benjamin Franklin," "Time Flies" (about our nation's founding documents), "The Triplet Adventures" (ancient history), and "The Ancient World Alive!" All these novels include a study guide contained within the book. Her faith permeates her novels. Carol's respect for and support of home schooling show up in her frequent articles that are published in home school magazines. She has presented and exhibited at a number of home school conferences. For the Great Homeschool Conventions she will introduce her novels that focus on learning history and include study guides, share strategies to use novels to teach history, describe techniques to inspire student writing, and point homeschoolers to where to find amazing and inexpensive teaching materials.
