Carlee Russell is an alternative educator and curriculum designer with a passion for helping homeschool families bring meaningful, practical, real-world skills into their everyday learning. A homeschooling mom of 21 years (and counting!) to nine children, Carlee combines lived experience with deep professional expertise to create instruction that is enjoyable, engaging, and genuinely useful for students of all ages.
Carlee holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology, and she has spent her career crafting curriculum that thinks beyond worksheets and textbooks. As an instructional designer, she is known for “thinking outside the box” and designing hands-on learning experiences that are both skills and confidence-building, and grounded in real-life applications.
During the pandemic, Carlee successfully transformed an entire in-person program into a fully online experience, making high-quality education accessible to families everywhere. Today, she travels with a film crew to homesteads across the country, capturing traditional skills up close so that students can learn from real people doing real work, whether they live on large acreages or in suburban neighborhoods.
Carlee lives in Wyoming, where she and her family homestead and continue to refine and apply the skills taught in her curriculum. She is committed to equipping homeschool parents with clear, practical pathways to help their children grow capable, confident, and connected to the world around them.
