About

Marlin is the husband of Laurie and the father of four grown sons. He and his wife have been involved in many aspects of classical Christian education since 1992—including founding The Geneva School in Orlando, Florida, and Veritas Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Marlin served as a founding and permanent board member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools for 22 years. He frequently writes and speaks on classical Christian education. He and Laurie began Veritas Press in order to provide the finest tools available to help like-minded parents educate their children. Today Veritas serves tens of thousands of students and families in over 50 countries every year with curriculum for classical education and through Veritas Scholars Academy, an online school.

Online Convention Workshops

If you are new to classical education, this talk is for you. If you’ve been around classical education and seek to understand WHY and HOW in a deeper way, this talk is for you, too. Learn what classical education is and what it isn’t. From the basics of the Trivium—Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric—to the content and subject considerations, this talk will provide clarity to what is meant by the terms and why this is more than an approach to education.

In an effort to help our students succeed we benefit from spending time thinking about the common threads for success as a student. Sometimes the difference between them succeeding and not is a simple as not knowing what it takes. Knowing what it takes and inculcating these attributes will give our children the best opportunity for succeeding with their education. Planning well begins with knowing. This talk will give you simple common-sense points to ponder and, when implemented, the greatest opportunity to see your children thrive from their education.
