November 15, 2019Stacey Lynn

The 2020 Texas Great Homeschool Convention will be held again at the Fort Worth Convention Center, March 12-14, 2020. This energizing assembly will give you access to hundreds of information-packed workshops and dozens of outstanding speakers, where you’ll learn so very much about homeschooling and the lifestyle that goes along with it. You’ll also have extensive homeschooling resources and curriculum to browse and shop at your convenience in the huge exhibit hall where you can speak to the very people that created it or who have successfully used it.

If you’re in the Fort Worth area or can make your way to the Fort Worth Convention Center, we hope you’ll join us for a truly refreshing time of information and fellowship. CLICK HERE for a full schedule of events.

We look forward to seeing you there, but first, let’s get into some of the convention highlights.

Special Events

Here are the events of which you can be a part:

The Real Mom Tour: You’re Better at This Than You Think

Thursday, 8 - 9:30 P.M.

Tickets: $3 in advance, thanks to generous financial support from Medi-Share, $5 at the door

You might think you’re not exactly cut out for this. Or you may have already done it for a while and are experiencing a bit of burnout. The Real Mom Tour will bring genuine encouragement back into your life as we deeply consider some of the topics that are of the utmost importance to you. Here are a few of the things we’ll be talking about:

  • Finding contentment in the social media age
  • Falling more in love with homeschooling without adding more work
  • Enjoying your kids in the homeschooling process without sacrificing academics

Join Colleen, Sarah, and Pam for these topics, as well as snacks, games, and tons of fun!

Andrew Stanley

Friday, 8 - 9 P.M.

Join stand-up comedian and homeschool survivor, Andrew Stanley, based out of Atlanta, GA, for observations coupled with a sense of humor that is both wry and dry. A regular performer at such venues as churches, conferences, breweries, and fundraisers, he took the grand prize in 2017 at the Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant. This clean, family-friendly comedian was also chosen for the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in both 2018 and 2019.

Slugs & Bugs LIVE in Concert with Randall Goodgame

Friday, 5:30 - 6:30 P.M.

Tickets: $3 for general seating, $5 for priority seating, thanks to generous financial support from Medi-Share and World News Group

Doors open at 5 P.M. for Priority Seating ticket holders, and 5:15 P.M. for General Seating ticket holders.

The Slugs & Bugs LIVE is an unforgettable concert, especially for families. You’ll find it to be joyful, gospel, celebratory, and interactive with plenty of animated videos and musical solos. This concert rejects the idea that life can be compartmentalized into “sacred” and “secular”, assuring everyone in attendance that Christ is the head of all things.

Phil Vischer, who created VeggieTales and What’s In the Bible, had this to say about Randal: “Randall Goodgame is a funny, funny guy. Slugs & Bugs is good stuff!”

In the Presence of My Enemies - Missionary Gracia Burnham

Saturday, 2:30 - 3:30 P.M.

Tickets to this event are free, thanks to generous support from Medi-Share, however, registration is strongly advised to make sure you can get in.

CLICK HERE to read more details about Gracia Burnham who, along with her husband, was captured in 2001, by a terrorist group. They were held in captivity for 376 days, enduring extreme hardships. The ordeal ended with Gracia’s husband, Martin, being killed in a firefight between the military and the terrorist group. Now residing in Rose Hill, Kansas, Gracia has authored two books, In the Presence of My Enemies and To Fly Again, and speaks all over the United States at colleges, churches, and conferences. She is the Founder and Director of The Martin & Gracia Burnham Foundation.

Phil Robertson - LIVE!

Saturday, 6 - 7 P.M.

In addition to hearing Phil speak, ticket holders will also have access to a Meet and Greet with him afterward. Phil, a Louisiana native and one of seven children, attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played the first-string quarterback, just ahead of Terry Bradshaw. Terry went on to play for the Pittsburg Steelers while Phil went on to gain a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Education. He was adored by his students before deciding he would return to the woods, with his wife Kay and their sons, Alan, Jase, Willie, and Jeptha, turning his passion for sports into a livelihood.
