Special Events

Consider these events to find one that will be of particular benefit to you:

The Real Mom Tour: You’re Better at This Than You Think

Thursday night, 8 - 9:30 P.M.

Tickets: $3 in advance, thanks to generous financial support from Medi-Share, $5 at the door.

As a new homeschooler, you can easily become overwhelmed and led to believe that you’re simply not cut out for the homeschooling life. On the other hand, years of homeschooling can also take their toll, eventually wearing you down. The important thing - and the take-away from this encouraging talk - is that you’re not alone. Here are a few of the topics you can expect to hear about on The Real Mom tour:

  • Finding contentment in the social media age
  • Falling more in love with homeschooling without adding more work
  • Enjoying your kids in the homeschooling process without sacrificing academics

Come join Pam, Sarah, and Colleen for games, snacks, and tons of fun along with a healthy dose of real mom encouragement.

Slugs & Bugs LIVE in Concert: Faith. Family. Funny. (Randall Goodgame)

Friday, 5:30 - 6:30 P.M.

Tickets: $3 for general seating, $5 for priority seating, thanks to generous financial support from Medi-Share and World News Group

Doors open at 5 P.M. for Priority Seating ticket holders, and 5:15 P.M. for General Seating ticket holders.

This magical musical experience is not only interactive but also filled with life-celebrating joy and a great Gospel message! Animated videos and refreshing music and vocals lead into the core message: that there is no separation between “real life” and “God life”. All is sacred when Jesus is the head of all things.

Phil Vischer, who created VeggieTales and What’s In the Bible, had this to say about Randal: “Randall Goodgame is a funny, funny guy. Slugs & Bugs is good stuff!”

Andrew Stanley

Friday, 8:00 - 9:00 P.M.

You’ll love this stand-up comedian and homeschool survivor, Andrew Stanley. He is based out of Atlanta, GA, and offers observations coupled with a sense of humor that is both wry and dry. A regular performer at such venues as churches, conferences, and fundraisers, he took the grand prize in 2017 at the Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant. You might also know this clean, family-friendly comedian was also chosen for the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in both 2018 and 2019. But even if you don’t, you don’t want to miss your chance to see him at the 2020 South Carolina Great Homeschool Convention.

In The Presence of My Enemies - Missionary Gracia Burnham

Saturday, 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.

Gracia Burnham and her husband were captured in 2001, by a terrorist group. They were then held in captivity for 376 days, enduring extreme hardships. The ordeal ended with Gracia’s husband, Martin, being killed in a firefight between the military and the terrorist group. Now residing in Rose Hill, Kansas, Gracia has authored two books, In the Presence of My Enemies and To Fly Again, and speaks all over the United States at colleges, churches, and conferences.
