Special Events

For a blessed combination of fun, fellowship, and information, you won’t want to miss the special events we have planned for our Missouri convention attendees. Take advantage of these fun-filled opportunities when you plan out your convention accommodations.

The Real Mom Tour

Even if you’re a veteran homeschooler, there will be times when this journey can become a bit overwhelming. The ladies who bring you The Real Mom Tour want you to know, however, that you are not alone, even if you find yourself educating your children at home amid lockdowns, quarantines and the supposition of a “new normal”.

The truth is, we can help support one another during these times, no matter what they bring, and these ladies have so much to say about how to do that. Join in to hear conversations steeped in experience, faith, and the common belief that we are actually better at this than we think we are.

Thanks to the faithful and generous financial support of our sponsor, Medi-Share, we offer the special ticket price of only $3 per purchase with your online purchase or $5 per person at the door.

Slugs & Bugs LIVE with Randall Goodgame

Randal Goodgame brings excitement, musical adventure, and a lovable cast to the stage with this fun-filled, interactive concert experience. If you want your child to get excited about Jesus, bring the family along to experience animated videos, energetic vocals, and the opportunity to learn the Scriptures in song.

We want to thank our sponsors, Medi-Share and World News Group, for their financial support, which allows us to offer these excellent ticket prices. You’ll pay $3 per person online for general seating and $5 per person for priority seating.

Andrew Stanley

He was homeschooled! How great is that? You will love his dry sense of humor. He was the grand prize winner The 2017 Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant, and he was also a selected participant in both 2018 and 2019, at the Laughing Skull Comedy Festivals.

We are honored to welcome his comedic antics this year as he keeps you and your family laughing with clean, family-centered humor. Be prepared for some of that humor to be directed toward homeschoolers! Get your tickets now before this event sells out.

Missionary Gracia Burnham

Both Gracia and her husband, Marin, were missionaries for many years, homeschooling all of their children overseas. However, during their wedding celebration in 2001, they were taken captive by the Abu Sayyaf Group. What ensued was more than a year of captivity, after which only Gracia made it home.

Since that time, Gracia has written two books. In the Presence of My Enemies was written to speak of their captivity time and much more. You’ll want to learn all the details, so make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to hear Gracia speak for yourself.

With hundreds of different workshops to choose from at Missouri’s Homeschool Convention, you’re sure to find topics that cater to your specific concerns and needs as a homeschooling parent. At the same time, you might discover workshop topics addressing issues you haven’t yet had to deal with but will at some point in the future. In that case, be sure to consider sitting in on topics that include creating high school transcripts, applying for college, vocational training, and more, and take notes you can file away for use when they become necessary.

Here are just a few of the workshops we’re sure you’ll enjoy:

  • Your Differently-Wired Homeschool: 10 strategies to help your atypical children thrive – Coleen Kessler
  • What Mattered Most: Recollections of a Homeschool Graduate – Ashley Wiggers

When you attend any Great Homeschool Convention, you’ll get to browse the vendor offerings available to you in the expansive Exhibition Center, and the 2021 Missouri convention is no different. You’ll reap great benefit from being able to get a hands-on idea of precisely what the materials and resources have to offer. Flipping through the various pieces of curriculum allow you to inspect them for their potential role in your homeschool, with regard to methods, styles, and individual preferences.

If you order your curriculum online, you have to wait until it arrives and then inspect it to see it matches your needs. This can be time-consuming and much more expensive, especially since many of our vendors offer special discounts for convention attendees. Be sure to allow plenty of time to browse during this part of your experience. We’re sure you’ll enjoy it.

During your visit to our Exhibition Center, you’ll also have the advantage of being able to speak with the very creators of the curriculum you’re browsing. But you’ll also be able to talk with those real moms and dads who have previously used the same curriculum. They can offer important insight toward things you might not even have considered, allowing you to fine-tune the choices you make for curriculum.

To see all the vendors you’ll have access to at the 2021 Missouri Great Homeschool Convention, CLICK HERE.

Giant Cow Ministries is in TOWN! Offering high-octane, Jesus-filled, day camp-styled kids’ event. Your child will enjoy this optional children’s conference while you enjoy the homeschool convention. Register now to reserve your child’s spot in this fun adventure. Requires a separate fee and a GHC family registration.
